Dir, Product Management in Honolulu, Hawaii at American Savings Bank

Primary Purpose of Job

Manages the Bank’s consumer and business deposit and loan products strategy, product design and tactical execution in support of corporate strategic objectives. Identifies opportunities for new loan and deposit products to drive growth and is responsible for the development and implementation of product management strategy.

Major Job Accountabilities

• Manages a competitive portfolio of consumer and business banking deposit products including checking, savings, CDs to achieve volume, revenue and profit targets. Develops and oversees the execution of all related financial/profit analysis, operational and platform activities.
• Manages consumer and business banking loan products and digital strategy. Develops and oversees the execution of all related financial/profit analysis, operational and platform activities.
• Identifies growth opportunities, recommends, designs, develops and implements new products to drive growth. Revises and adapts product portfolio and product packages, including features and pricing to strengthen the Banks competitive position and achieve its business targets. Responsible for monitoring the competition and environmental trends for opportunities, risks, etc.
• Works across multiple teams to ensure execution of product changes, marketing campaigns, promotions, tools, events, etc. support the growth and profitability goals. Collaborates with segment strategy, analytics, marketing, sales, and technology to deliver on objectives.
• Monitors and reports business results, with support of marketing data analytics team.

Experience Required

• Minimum ten (10) years of Banking or financial institutions experience.
• Minimum ten (10) years Management or supervisory experience is preferred.

Required Skills or Training

• Solid knowledge of and professional experience with bank deposit products.
• Knowledge of general banking principles and federal and state compliance regulations as they relate to banking.
• Advanced quantitative skills and passion for data-based decisions.
• Experience with core deposit platforms, their capabilities and challenges.
• Experience with online banking platforms.
• Effective verbal/written communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Extremely organized, detail-oriented, with a high degree of project management skills.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft applications required.
• Able to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
• Able to travel to various locations on Oahu, neighbor islands and mainland, as necessary.
