Job Description
Under the direction and supervision of the BMG Group Practice Manager and in collaboration of the Interventional Psychiatry Program Director, the TMS/Interventional Technician provides TMS (Transmagnetic Cranial Stimulation) treatments in accordance with psychiatrist specifications. The TMS/Interventional Technician will also help in the interventional department which may include but not limited scheduling appointments, monitoring interventional treatments (i.e. Spravato), reminder calls, providing procedure information, benefit eligibility and insurance precertification.

Provides patient care utilizing TMS/ Interventional therapeutic treatments by:
- Scheduling patients for the TMS process.
- Providing TMS treatments including administering treatments, assist with motor threshold session, administer and insure accuracy of each treatment.
- Administering rating scales if needed.
- Monitoring patients during Interventional treatments, including the ability to obtain patient vital signs.
- In collaboration with the clinical team, ensuring patient concerns are addressed, including medication questions, addressing emergency issues, scheduling with the psychiatrist, and post treatment concerns.
Provides administrative duties in the Interventional Department by:
- Scheduling appointments and reminder calls.
- Providing procedure information and answering patient questions during scheduling process.
- Performing benefit and insurance precertification.
- Preparing reports and other documentation as required.
- Charting on treatments in our electronic medical record.
- Coordinating with pharmacy to ensure we have supplies needs for treatments.
Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:
- Facilitating excellent customer service.
- Participating on various Memorial Hospital/Beacon Health System committees as requested.
- Completing other job-related assignments and special projects as directed.

- Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
- Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
- Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
- Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
- Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
- Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
- Complies with established organization and department policies.
- Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience
- The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in an allied health or human services field. Certification in Transmagnetic Cranial Stimulation will be provided but is required to be obtained within 6 months of hire date. At a minimum, the position requirement is two years of professional experience or college education in a health or human services field.
