Quality Improvement Analyst-Onsite Only at Crouse Hospital – Syracuse, New York

Maintain, report and update QI data for quality indicators consisting of clinical, statistical and financial data. Analyze data, verify statistical performance and make recommendations towards actions to support improved outcomes. Facilitate councils and action groups for performance improvement outcomes. Job Requirements: Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree preferred. Associates Degree required. Prefer degree in Applied Science or health related field. Data analysis with computer skills, communications and organizational skills required for working with and for diverse groups, including physicians and middle/senior management. Minimum Experience and Training: Strong computer skills and knowledge including Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Excel), Internet Explorer and mouse navigation. Ability to apply Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) tools and techniques (including but not limited to flow charts, Pareto diagrams, cause and effect diagrams and histograms). Knowledge of medical terminology and of ICD9 CM/DRG coding. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills both oral and written. Ability to work with diverse audience. Ability to work in a calm professional manner. Ability to work as a team player with department heads, performance improvement council members, physicians, and senior management. Ability to organize complex tasks and meets deadlines. Ability to maintain flexibility while prioritizing work load and work well under pressure. Skills: Familiarity with basic statistical analysis required (e.g. mean, median, mode, standard deviation). Must be able to utilize MS Word, Excel and Access to maintain necessary departmental databases and create spreadsheets for control charts. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong project management skills to manage multiple projects. Hourly Rate Range $24.25 - $45.18/hour Based on verified education and experience
