Job Description
Reports to the Manager of Quality Management. The system Quality Data Coordinator is a specialized position that is responsible for collecting and analyzing clinical data to support patient-centered outcomes (care quality, patient safety, health equity) aligned with the clinical excellence strategy. Collaborates with healthcare teams to provide support for data collection, analysis, and reporting. Supports other clinical quality program areas as needed.

Clinical Data Management:
- Completes outcome reports and scorecards to track and trend quality performance outcomes.
- Prepares, submits, and reports selected hospital publicly reported data elements.
- Reviews and resolves listings of errors and/or inconsistencies identified by data validation processes.
- Participates in the Quality Control review of clinical data prior to data release.
- Coordinates record reviews for data validation by agencies and/or associations.
- Works with Manager on clinical data projects aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.
- Utilizes computer hardware and software including desktop applications, project management tools, and other data management software for data retrieval, data collection, error detections, analysis, and reporting.
Outcomes Management/Data Management:
- Completes, maintains, and submits a variety of records, reports and statistical summaries for team and key stakeholders as requested.
- Assists Manager in the development of key clinical indicators for routine monitoring of performance and communicates performance internally.
- Retrieves and assembles data to support quality improvement initiatives and compliance with regulations/standards and organizational goals.
- Completes other job related assignments and special projects as directed.

Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:

- Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
- Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
- Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
- Complies with established organization and department policies.
- Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience
- The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of an Associate’s degree. Bachelor’s degree with experience in public health or healthcare data management with understanding of healthcare quality is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and the healthcare field.
- Requires proficient computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets, data analysis, and presentation tools along with basic skills to navigate through electronic medical records and various surveillance systems.
- Requires high level of analytical skills necessary to plan, collect, analyze, and report data.
- Requires well developed communication skills, verbal and written, to effectively inform, instruct, and facilitate matters of infection prevention.
- Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with others.
- Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all information utilized within the department.
