About This Position
The Authorization Coordinator is responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for special procedures, medication, and other tests requiring insurance approval. Maintains a database of requests and outcomes.
Requirements:
- Coordinates insurance benefits to obtain the necessary authorization for procedures/medications.
- Data collection and analysis of outcomes related to approvals and denials.
- Ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint to perform/present data analysis.
- Ability to utilize a patient electronic medical record/ hospital clinical information system.
- High School Diploma Required
- Coding Certificate Preferred
