Certified Medical Assistant - Physician Office at Houston Healthcare – Warner Robins, Georgia

Under general supervision, provides initial patient triage, registration, and administrative services, assists with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as directed and dictated by established protocol. May perform other routine clerical tasks such as faxing, filing, assisting with telephone coverage, patient check in and out. All other job-related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of a medical assistant diploma program. These programs are offered at proprietary schools.

One (1) year medical assistant. Two (2) years experience may substitute for completion of diploma program.

Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. AMT (American Medical Technologists), NHA (National Healthcareer Associate) or AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) Certified Medical Assistant credential. PEARS certification or obtained within (6) six months of hire.

Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical operations. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Willingness to participate in continuing medical education. Word processing and/or data entry skills. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements. Ability to interact and communicate with people in person and over the telephone, often in stressful situations. Must be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, gown, mask, etc.
