Located inGreater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses inWellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate willjoin a vibrant educational community, and have a desire and ability to serve apopulation of students with various needs and backgrounds. Thecandidate is expected to commit to excellence in teaching and learning,collaboration and professional development. Adjunct faculty are expected to deliver course materials in alearner-centered environment conductive to engaging students in the learningprocess. The faculty member in this position communicates consistently andeffectively with students, faculty and administrators, and responds tocommunications within a 24-hour period of time. The faculty is responsible formanaging this course through timely grading of assignments, providingsubstantial student feedback with assignments, and submission of clinicalevaluations, attendance and grades.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare syllabi and develop curricula to address course/program requirements and student learning outcomes to meet graduation competencies as appropriate;
- Use appropriate assessment methods consistently and regularly to measure student understanding;
- Maintain excellent communication with students, department and division staff throughout the semester;
- Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in teaching and learning;
- Submit midterm and final grade reports, attendance records, early alerts, and other reports pertaining to assigned courses by required due dates;
- Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Psychology;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Community College experience strongly preferred;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body;
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to promote and evaluate student learning;
- Demonstrated ability to use information technology effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;
- Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
- Interest and availability to work day and evening for Spring 2023 and beyond;
- Demonstrated commitment to academic standards, student support, student learning and student support.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $1,397 - $1,585 per DCE Credit
