JOB DESCRIPTION: Delivery Driver
LOCATION: Retail Pharmacy
REPORTS: Pharmacist In Charge and Lead Pharmacy Technician
COMPANY: NW Staffing LLC || dba Express Rx
SUMMARY
The DELIVERY DRIVER will many times be the sole interaction between our patient(s) and the Company, thus they must be “friendly with a pleasant smile!” Must be able to receive direction from pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Since paperwork and records are an important part of the pharmacy business, the Delivery Driver will need to be organized and detail oriented. The Delivery Driver must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment and have strong customer service skills. When not performing deliveries, the driver can take on duties of the Pharmacy Clerk (unless licensed as a Pharmacy Technician), i.e., answering phones, accepting prescriptions, filing records, and receiving payment from customers (if trained on the POS).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver patient prescription(s) to our wonderful customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
• Establishes and maintains outstanding relations with customers.
• Inspects delivery vehicle(s) and ensures the safety and security of the loading and unloading process.
• Contacts customers to confirm delivery details.
• Maintains delivery logs and records.
• Keep Company vehicle fueled, cleaned and well maintained (if applicable).
• Help pharmacy staff with cleaning and sanitizing surfaces.
• Greet customers, answer calls, and field patient questions with a positive attitude.
• Collect payment and insurance information.
• Keep front end shelves organized and clean, along with the rest of the pharmacy.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Move, lift, carry and place merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Frequent repetitive motion with hand(s) and arm(s), such as grasping, gripping and turning.
• Stand and/or walk frequently throughout work shift.
• Visually locate merchandise and other objects, as well as verify information, often in small print.
NOTE: Delivery Driver is prohibited from: 1) Carrying cash or accepting cash payments; and, 2) Performing any type of counseling with patients.
EXPERIENCE or REQUIREMENTS
• Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid Driver's license
• Less than 3 traffic violations within the past 3 years
• No DWI or DUI within the past 5 years
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Proven communication and customer service skills
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Safe, responsible and reliable, with a keen eye for detail
• Familiarity with local streets, neighborhoods, and routes
