Position Summary
The Clinical Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides experts with clinical knowledge and operational guidance during the deployment of a healthcare system across multiple sites. This role ensures that workflows, documentation practices, and user adoption align with clinical standards and organizational goals. The Clinical SME serves as a key liaison between clinical stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that system configuration and operational workflows reflect real-world clinical practice. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the clinical operations subject matter expert during deployment to ensure system workflow, support, patient care, and clinical practice alignment; provide support to end-users with troubleshooting of functional issues.
- Act as a liaison between clinical staff and technical teams to ensure system configuration aligns with real-world clinical needs.
- Identify workflow gaps or issues and provide recommendations for process and system improvements.
- Assist with change management communication and stakeholder engagement across multiple deployment sites to ensure seamless communication and operational readiness.
- Provide on-site and virtual clinical workflow validation during system go-live and stabilization periods.
- Conduct end-user rounding to gather feedback, assess adoption, and identify opportunities for workflow optimization.
- Support development and delivery of clinical training reinforcement and just-in-time education during deployment.
- Participate in configuration review sessions to validate build decisions against clinical best practices and regulatory standards.
- Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
- Submit Monthly Status Reports on a regular basis, as required.
- Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
- Complete required compliance training as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to travel up to 70%.
Knowledge and Critical Skills
- Strong understanding of clinical operations and healthcare workflows.
- Ability to assess information and knowledge-based needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
- Knowledge of procurement, customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems, such as EHRs and order-entry systems.
- Expertise to identify workflow gaps and recommend practical improvements.
Education & Work Experience
- Master’s Degree in Healthcare or related scientific, technical, or clinical discipline required; an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirement.
- Minimum of 4+ years of professional work experience.
- Experience developing, implementing, and refining clinical decision support systems.

- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust level clearance.
Work Environment
Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
Physical Demands
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
