About This Position
Position Summary
The Farm Worker is responsible for supporting daily dairy farm operations, including milking cows, caring for livestock, cleaning the barn, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and productive farm environment. This position requires reliability, attention to animal care, and the ability to work in a physical, hands-on setting.
Key Responsibilities
Milk cows according to the farm’s procedures and schedule.
Feed, water, and care for cows and other livestock as assigned.
Monitor animals for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior and report concerns promptly.
Clean barns, stalls, milking areas, and other farm facilities.
Help maintain sanitary conditions in animal and work areas.
Assist with moving animals safely between pens, barns, and milking areas.
Operate basic farm tools and equipment as trained.
Support general farm duties, including bedding, manure cleanup, and facility upkeep.
Follow all farm safety, sanitation, and animal welfare practices.
Work cooperatively with farm owners, supervisors, and other team members.
Qualifications
Previous farm or livestock experience preferred, but not required.
Comfortable working around cows and in a farm environment.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working in varying weather conditions.
Dependable, hardworking, and willing to follow instructions.
Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Basic understanding of animal care and cleanliness standards is helpful.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in wet, dusty, or outdoor conditions.
Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks.
Work Environment
This position works in a dairy farm environment with exposure to animals, odors, noise, and changing temperatures.
