POSITION TITLE
The Production Scheduler is responsible for the day-to-day scheduling for production operations. Must be aware of all production goals and anticipate problems that could affect daily schedules thus affecting long term goals. Must demonstrate coherent communication and positive relations with all internal levels of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties
- Analyzes customer order backlog to prepare production reports.
- Production-planning oversight to ensure that production operations are meeting shipping dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer orders.
- Planning and scheduling workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Monitors, analyzes & reports performance of production & production support activities, utilizing information derived from material and production control systems.
- Ensures all parties are fully cognizant of production status, and that work planning and execution objectives are integrated and communicated.
- Analyzes requests for maintenance/repair services and determines the validity, content and scope of requested work.
- Ensures plant operations are operating within stated lead times.
- Develops capacity plans to support varying levels of demand.

- Strong analytical skills, able to synthesize considerable and complex data
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as developed oral and written communication skills to deal with internal and external relationships
- Remain highly organized, flexible and able to react well to immediate issues with attention to detail and deadlines which includes prompt responses to daily emails and phone requests
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet expected goals on time
- Teamwork within all departments will be necessary on a daily basis
- Motivated to go beyond the job description to ensure the work meets or exceeds expectations
- Ability to modulate with a dynamic workload: from heavy multi-tasking during peak workloads to very focused detail-oriented work during critical projects
Education and Experience
- Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 enterprise resource planning (ERP systems, i.e. SAP, NetSuite)
- Bachelor of Science degree preferred
- 3 or more years’ experience in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing setting
- Microsoft Excel proficiency required
Physical Requirements
- Periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer
- Ability to walk factory floor
