Maintenance Supervisor - Dairy Manufacturing in Modesto, California at CRYSTAL CREAMERY INC

Crystal Creamery is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our Modesto facility. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our plant operations. Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees and coordinates all maintenance activities within the plant. This position is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians, minimizing downtime, optimizing equipment performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

· Lead, mentor, and supervise maintenance technicians.

· Assign daily tasks, provide training, and conduct performance evaluations.

· Promote a strong safety culture and accountability within the team.

Maintenance Operations

· Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.

· Troubleshoot and oversee repairs to ensure timely resolution.

· Manage emergency repairs and coordinate with external vendors as needed.

Planning & Scheduling

· Create and manage maintenance schedules to support production goals.

· Partner with production and engineering teams to minimize operational disruptions.

Safety & Compliance

· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

· Conduct routine safety audits and inspections.

· Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records.

Inventory & Budget Management

· Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies.

· Monitor and control maintenance-related expenses.

· Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.

Continuous Improvement

· Analyze maintenance data and performance metrics.

· Drive process improvements and implement best practices.

Collaboration & Communication

· Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and leadership teams.

· Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).

· 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

· 2+ years of supervisory experience.

· Dairy or food manufacturing experience (strongly preferred).

· Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and equipment.

· Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS).

· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Physical & Work Requirements

· Ability to lift and move heavy objects.

· Comfortable working in a plant environment with noise and varying temperatures.

Must be able to work off shift and weekends
