Sterile Services Co. (SSC) is a growing professional services firm supporting federal, state, and commercial clients in highly regulated environments. SSC provides program and project management (PMO), logistics and supply chain operations, facilities operations and maintenance, and administrative and management support services to government agencies and commercial partners. The company holds multiple federal socio-economic certifications, and continues to expand its footprint across the federal marketplace through strategic partnerships and competitive proposal submissions. .

SSC is seeking a Contract Site Lead, a managerial role responsible for overseeing, supervising, and coordinating daily production across all locations while serving as the primary point of contact with the Government. This position is essential to maintaining safety, environmental compliance, and efficient operations.

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day hazardous materials (HAZMAT) operations, including inventory control, storage, distribution, and disposal. Ensure all cradle-to-grave processes are performed in full compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain current knowledge of and ensure compliance with OSHA standards, DoD Hazardous Communications (HAZCOM), Environmental Compliance requirements including EPCRA, the P2 Act, DoD policies, Executive Orders, and all applicable federal, state, and local Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) regulations.
  • Program Compliance: Ensure adherence to CHRIMP procedures and Pollution Prevention (P2) mandates while supporting the full scope of HAZMAT management requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and direct a team of HAZMAT technicians and personnel. Manage staffing schedules and ensure safe, efficient daily operations.
  • Government Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for government representatives, including the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). Provide regular updates, address issues, and ensure contract requirements are met.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and complete records of all HAZMAT activities, including material tracking, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and waste manifests. Prepare and submit required reports to government stakeholders.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to HAZMAT incidents and spills as required, coordinating with base emergency services and ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience and current knowledge of OSHA standards, DoD HAZCOM requirements, EPCRA, the P2 Act, DoD policies, Executive Orders, and all applicable federal, state, and local ESOH regulations.
  • Ability to identify HAZMAT shipments and training/certification to complete shipping papers, properly placard vehicles, and ensure compliance with 49 CFR and related regulatory requirements, including proper labeling and packaging standards.
  • Experience providing end-to-end supply chain management support for hazardous materials.
  • Proficiency using GDS (and its current/future capabilities) for cradle-to-grave HAZMAT management, including receipt, storage (including shelf-life management), issuance, and material tracking. Includes segregation by compatibility and SDS requirements.
  • Ability to maintain Government-approved Authorized User (customer) and Authorized Use List (AUL) records within GDS.
  • Ensure continuous ESOH-compliant HAZMAT management in accordance with ISO 14001 standards.
  • Experience tracking empty and partial containers and maintaining accurate updates within the GDS database.
  • Ability to support special projects within the scope of the Performance Work Statement (PWS) as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident with a minimum of three (3) years of legal residency, in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) requirements.
  • Must successfully complete a favorable NACI or T1 background investigation, including FBI fingerprinting, prior to installation access.

Travel: Occasional travel between sites within the NDW region may be required.
