About BigMarker

BigMarker is a leading webinar and virtual/hybrid events platform that powers high-impact experiences for audiences around the world - from live webinars to large-scale virtual/hybrid conferences.

We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to help us build and scale the next generation of BigMarker’s webinar marketing platform. The products you'll be working on range from registration and payment flows, to interactive communication within live webinars, to post-event data analytics, and more.

• Contribute high-quality, scalable backend and frontend code to our web applications
• Pay special attention to the security and efficiency of new and existing code
• Design key features, systems, and database schemas from the ground up
• Review and provide critical feedback on your peers' code
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues reported by our users, and collaborate to quickly develop solutions
• Evaluate the feasibility, cost, and benefit of new feature requests from clients and internal teams
• Manage and improve cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Communicate clearly with non-technical peers, and translate business goals into technical requirements

This is a flexible hybrid role, with a minimum of 2 days per week in-person at our Chicago office located by the Merchandise Mart.

• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer
• Familiarity with web development frameworks and technologies
• Adherence to software design best practices
• Good written communication skills for collaboration with other engineers and non-technical roles
• Experience with Ruby/Rails is a huge plus
• Experience with relational databases is a huge plus
