About the Role:

The Hydraulic Painter plays a critical role in ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of hydraulic systems by applying protective coatings and finishes to hydraulic components and equipment. This position requires meticulous surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, and priming, to guarantee paint adhesion and durability under demanding operational conditions. The Hydraulic Painter will work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to understand specifications and select appropriate materials for each project. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and environmental regulations are paramount to prevent contamination and ensure high-quality finishes. Ultimately, this role contributes to reducing equipment downtime and maintenance costs by protecting hydraulic systems from corrosion and wear.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in industrial painting, preferably with hydraulic or heavy machinery components.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and painting application methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and safety data sheets.
  • Familiarity with safety standards related to painting and handling of hazardous materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in industrial painting or coatings application.
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems or in a manufacturing/maintenance environment.
  • Training in OSHA safety standards and hazardous materials handling.
  • Ability to operate spray painting equipment and related tools proficiently.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to understand hydraulic component structures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare hydraulic components and surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure proper paint application.
  • Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for defects and perform touch-ups or rework as necessary to meet quality standards.
  • Maintain and clean painting equipment and work areas to comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to understand project requirements and select appropriate painting materials.
  • Document work performed, including materials used and any issues encountered during the painting process.
  • Follow all safety protocols related to handling hazardous materials and operating painting equipment.
