Class A/B CDL Driver Lead Essential Environmental Service and Vacuum Operations

Job Overview:

  • Company: Emerald Plumbing Co LLC.

  • Salary/Pay Rate: $35 to $40 per hour (based on experience)

  • Location: Field-based / Onsite (Alexandria, VA).

  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

  • Schedule: Monday Friday, Weekends, and Overtime.

  • Project Scope: Residential and Commercial Plumbing

  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Class A or B CDL License.

The Opportunity: You will transition from a standard driving role into a specialized technical career within an essential environmental service industry. This position empowers you to master the operation of advanced vacuum and pump equipment while providing a critical service to residential and commercial clients. You will join a team that values your technical expertise and provides the stability of year-round work in a recession-proof field.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Safely navigate and operate Class A or B CDL pump trucks with manual transmissions to various job sites.

  • Execute the pumping and cleaning of residential and commercial septic systems and grease interceptors.

  • Conduct thorough inspections of wastewater tanks to identify and report system concerns to customers.

  • Ensure 100% compliance with DOT, environmental, and company safety protocols during all waste handling.

  • Manage precise service documentation and waste disposal logs to maintain regulatory standards.

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting to ensure truck and pump reliability.

  • Deliver professional, respectful customer service as a primary representative of the company in the field.

  • Occasional confined space entry, you will need to be comfortable with tight spaces.

  • Must be comfortable working in various environments, including sewage, waste, and more.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active and valid Class A or B CDL License.

  • Proven experience driving and operating vehicles with manual transmissions.

  • Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs and perform labor-intensive work in diverse weather conditions.

  • Clean driving record and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to handle outdoor, hands-on tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience operating vacuum or pump trucks in a commercial setting.

  • Background in construction, plumbing, or environmental services.

  • Minimum of 3 year of professional CDL driving experience.
