About This Position

Description:

At Pullman Market, where curated dining experiences meet culinary craftsmanship, the Porter plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in supporting our restaurant operations. This position ensures that all restaurant spaces remain clean, well-stocked, and functioning smoothly. As a key member of the back-of-house team, the Porter helps uphold the high standards of hospitality and efficiency that define our guest experience.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Support daily restaurant operations by maintaining cleanliness and organization in kitchens, dish stations, service areas, and storage spaces.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing supplies for culinary and FOH teams.
  • Transport items such as linens, ingredients, trash, and recycling between prep and service areas.
  • Clean and reset common-use areas, restrooms, and service zones throughout shifts.
  • Assist with event or service prep and breakdown tasks, including resetting floors and moving furniture or equipment.
  • Help monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and restock as needed.
  • Notify managers of any safety concerns or equipment issues promptly.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely during shifts.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to undergo training and follow company policies and procedures.

Working Conditions:

  • A typical work week for this position is 40-45 hours. Hours vary based on needs of the market and the department.
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting objects up to 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist movements.
  • Exposure to hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment is possible.
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as phones, computers, fax machines, and copiers may be required.
