Job Description
Overview:
Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking motivated and dedicated Instructional Assistants to support teachers and students across all grade levels (2026-27 school year). The Instructional Assistants will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to provide instructional support, facilitate small group instruction, assist with classroom management, and be enthusiastic about making a positive impact in urban communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support:
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
- Provide individualized support to students to reinforce learning and promote academic growth
Small Group Instruction:
- Facilitate small group instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher
- Work with students in targeted intervention groups to provide additional support in specific subject areas
Classroom Management:
- Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
- Implement positive reinforcement techniques to promote student engagement and participation
Materials Preparation:
- Assist with preparing instructional materials, resources, and equipment for classroom activities and lessons
- Organize and maintain classroom materials and supplies to support teaching and learning
Data Collection and Progress Monitoring:
- Collect and record student data, including assessment scores and progress monitoring data
- Assist teachers in tracking student progress and adjusting instruction as needed
Parent and Teacher Communication:
- Communicate regularly with classroom teachers regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to support a cohesive and collaborative learning environment
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in education or a related field
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from classroom teachers
- Clearances: FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination
