Title
Nurse Practitioner—Mental Health and Addiction
Summary
Provides comprehensive patient care in collaboration with a physician and multidisciplinary healthcare team within a designated specialty. Performs detailed patient assessments, diagnoses and treats illnesses, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, prescribes medications and therapies, and coordinates specialty referrals as needed. Delivers patient education focused on chronic disease management, wellness, and treatment plans while consulting with physicians for complex care needs outside the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice. Works across inpatient and outpatient settings, functioning independently and collaboratively to support high-quality patient outcomes. Serves as a resource, educator, consultant, and liaison to healthcare staff, interdisciplinary teams, and outside agencies, while contributing to care coordination, program development, and communication across the continuum of care.
Hours and FTE are determined per employment agreement. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage information for all open positions. This position offers a base guarantee with productivity opportunity above the base determined annually. The productivity-based pay is reviewed annually for market adjustments. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree — Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire
- Certified Nurse Practitioner — American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty required upon hire OR Clinical Nurse Specialist – National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS) certification within specialty required upon hire
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner required
- Valid Driver’s License required upon hire - MN residents must obtain a valid driver’s license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment for those working in Complex Care for Seniors, Community Palliative Care and Hospice
- 1 year experience with Mental Health and Addiction
- Must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program for BLS certification and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).
- Complete required de-escalation and crisis prevention training upon hire and on an annual basis, including adherence to NH+C reporting standards, preparedness protocols, and response procedures.
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration required upon hire
- Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) registration required upon hire
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) required upon hire
