Job Description

General Description
This position is under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager and is responsible for preparing a variety of detailed tasks involving financial reporting, invoicing, budget preparation, processing payroll, monitoring cash receipt records, and ad hoc reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports for designated programs including budgeting, invoicing, financial statements, and cash receipts.
2. Communicates with all funding sources to comply with funding source requirements and to answer any inquiries.
3. Enters cash disbursements and receipts in the cash spreadsheet daily keeping the document current and complete.
4. Reviews check runs twice per week after every check run for accuracy in check numbers, project identification numbers, and other details.
5. Processes agency payroll.
6. Serves as a backup to make the bank deposits per agency policy, including accurate coding of all deposits into the accounting system.
7. Assists as needed with agency credit cards and charge accounts.
8. Provides technical, financial advice, and guidance in the resolution of questions and problems arising during program implementation and program execution.
9. Develops, executes, evaluates, and revises the programs' operating budgets, in coordination with Program Directors and CFO. Available to review and advise staff on reports and budgets as needed. Continually monitors budgets and relays pertinent information to the CFO, Finance Manager, and Program Directors on financial issues impacting budgets.
10. Prepares accurate budget-expenditure analysis and financial statements in a timely manner to assist the Board of Directors, CEO, CFO, and Management staff in performing their duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of data management and fund accounting.
• Knowledge of computerized fiscal and database systems and fiscal controls.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Position requires a well-organized, self-directed individual with high ethical standards, sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.

Must:
• Demonstrate knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, receipt custody, and expenditures of federal monies.
• Organize, prioritize, and manage workloads of self.
• Maintain appropriate confidentiality.
• Handle multiple tasks under pressure.

Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a safe driving record. Before employment, the applicant must sign authorizations for NRCA to perform DMV and Criminal Record Checks. Pre-employment drug testing is also required.

Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field plus a minimum of three years related experience.
