We’re looking for an experienced IT Director who will be located onsite in Winslow, ME to lead our technology strategy and oversee our Genius ERP system to support our engineer-to-order manufacturing operations.

Position Overview

As the IT Director, you’ll be responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and direction of our IT department. You will manage and optimize all aspects of the Genius ERP system, ensure the reliability and security of IT infrastructure, and drive digital transformation initiatives across the company.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a technology professional who understands the fast-paced, detail-driven world of manufacturing.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the company’s IT strategy, aligning technology initiatives with business and manufacturing goals supervising a team of five.
  • Oversee and continuously improve the Genius ERP system to streamline quoting, scheduling, inventory, and production management.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, purchasing, and finance to optimize system workflows and reporting.
  • Manage IT infrastructure across all facilities, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable systems.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity standards, backup protocols, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Direct IT support and help desk operations, ensuring high levels of user satisfaction.
  • Manage vendor relationships, software licenses, and support agreements.
  • Lead and mentor IT staff, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage IT budget.
  • Identify and implement emerging technologies (IoT, automation, data analytics) to enhance production and business intelligence.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8–10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Genius ERP (or similar manufacturing ERP systems).
  • Strong understanding of engineer-to-order (ETO) or make-to-order (MTO) manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to manage complex IT projects and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Experience with database management, integrations, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in custom trailer, vehicle, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with CAD/ERP integration (e.g., SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and modern cybersecurity best practices.
  • Prior success leading ERP upgrades or digital transformation projects.
