Job Description
Job Objective/ Summary
The responsibility of a Security Guard is to regularly patrol and monitor the premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. The Security Guard is also responsible for providing service to the residents and ensuring they can be safe and secure in their homes.
Essential Functions
- Perform regular exterior patrols to ensure security of the Estates property and residents’ vehicles.
- Protect the property from trespassers, and notify the proper authorities of potential problems that may occur on property.
- Respond to all calls from residents concerning medical problems, review the medical need and notify the nursing staff or EMS as needed.
- Provide necessary services of assistance to all residents and employees when they are in need.
- Deliver packages or mail to residential apartments as needed.
- Complete meal ticket forms for residents needing guest meal tickets.
- Assist residents in the event of a State of Emergency due to a fire or some type of natural disaster.
- Answer all incoming telephone calls and screen all calls coming into the Health Center after regularbusiness hours.
- Complete incident reports as needed.
- Set the resident tabs located on apartment doors after midnight each night to ensure the safety andwelfare of all residents.
- Perform welfare checks on residents that have been unaccounted for by other residents or anoutside concerned party.
- Provide traffic patrols to ensure safe driving on property.
- Adhere to The Estates at Carpenters’ policies and procedures, including those covering privacy and security in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and codes of conduct. Maintain confidentiality and respects resident’s privacy at all times in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

- Demonstrates the values of The Estates at Carpenters.
- Attends and participates in orientation, training and educational activities as required.
- Dresses appropriately, following appropriate dress and uniform policies and guidelines.
- Must be able to maintain consistent attendance as per job requirements and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Education, Licenses/Certifications, Knowledge & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Certified through the State of Florida as a Class D Security Guard or the achievement of certification within 90 days of hire. A minimum of one (1) year previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferred.
- Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License where an MVR is submitted to the company’s vehicle insurance company. Employee must be deemed eligible to drive the company’s vehicles.

Additional Requirements/Preferences
Requirements
- Must successfully pass the mandated criminal background checks, pre-employment drug screen, and pre-employment reference checks.
- Must be able to provide official grade transcripts of the education level provided on the employment application (as requested).
- Must be able to provide a copy of his/her own social security card for W-4 documentation.
- Must be able to provide applicable documentation(s) for I-9 in order to establish identity and authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must have valid driver’s license, personal automobile liability insurance, and acceptable driving record.
Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Category II
Your tasks involve no routine exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other contaminated materials. Training will be provided for properly cleaning small spills and there will be an employee available or on call to take responsibility for clean-up and decontamination of potentially infectious body substances in the event of an unexpected blood, body fluid or tissue spill.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this position, a Security Guard is regularly required to stand, walk, bend and sit for extended periods of time and lift in excess of 100lbs. The job may be performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
