Our Mission

The school is an independent, coeducational day school dedicated to providing an excellent instructional program for children with language-based learning disabilities. The multisensory curriculum is designed for students of average to superior intelligence who can benefit from the unique educational experience provided. Through direct instruction in small class settings, a trained staff assists students to improve their language skills. Academic success, combined with opportunities for social and emotional growth, enables students to understand their learning styles, build confidence, and develop self-advocacy skills. Windward is committed to helping students achieve their full potential in preparation for a successful return to the mainstream educational environment. Summary

Maintain school buildings and systems, keep shared spaces clean and sanitary, and serve as a first responder to building emergencies using two-way radio.

Duties and responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance such as repairing non-structural damage, windows, doors and walls.
• Repair broken or leaking plumbing to prevent water damage and restore use of fixtures.
• Address damaged electrical wiring when a short or wiring issue occurs.
• Maintain building HVAC equipment to keep climate control working properly.
• Assist with preventive maintenance to reduce the risk of future problems.
• Paint rooms when paint has faded or chipped.
• Repair safety hazards to prevent injuries.
• Maintain the lunchroom between lunch periods: wipe down and sanitize tables, sweep and empty garbage.
• Sanitize high-touch surfaces such as door handles and railings.
• Respond to building emergencies (leaks, power loss, alarms, injuries, evacuations) and relay information by two-way radio and phone.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
