About This Position
At Northfield Park Racino, the Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing and maintaining accurate payroll records in compliance with company policies, state and federal regulations, and gaming requirements. This position ensures timely and accurate payroll transactions, maintains team member confidentiality, and provides responsive service to team members regarding pay-related inquiries.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
List duties in order of time spent or importance. Essential duties and tasks that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Receives and verifies administrative forms used in establishing the salary of team members.
- Verifies and enters payroll information into payroll system
- Audits payroll reports before information is transmitted.
- Monitors and maintains the timely issuance of property payroll checks and assure the resolution of payroll related problems.
- Performs daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensures the distribution of paychecks or arranges direct deposit programs.
- Reviews and audit payroll records for accuracy and updates.
- Maintains confidentiality of all payroll data.
- Reviews time records for completeness.
- Reviews and verifies team member files to the payroll system.
- Verifies payroll deductions.
- Process wage garnishments, tax liens, child support, and other deductions.
- Collaborates with HR for wage verifications.
- Responds to payroll questions from team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education, experience, skills required, equipment used.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- One year of applicable experience, high school or GED preferred, or combination of experience and education.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; and automated financial systems.
- Knowledge of gaming and tax regulations.
