Outdoor Pool Attendant – Duties & Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Outdoor Pool Attendant is responsible for ensuring the pool area is clean, safe, and welcoming for members and guests. This position assists with monitoring the pool deck, maintaining cleanliness, supporting food and beverage service when needed, and helping members enjoy a safe pool environment.

Key Duties

Member Service

• Greet members and guests entering the pool area.
• Assist members with lounge chairs, umbrellas, and seating when needed.
• Provide towels if applicable and ensure used towels are placed in proper bins.
• Answer general questions about pool hours, rules, and amenities.

Pool Area Monitoring

• Ensure all pool rules are followed by members and guests.
• Remind members that children must follow pool safety guidelines.
• Report any unsafe behavior or incidents to management immediately.
• Keep an eye on pool activity and notify lifeguards or supervisors if needed.

Cleanliness & Organization

• Pick up towels, trash, and personal items left around the pool deck.
• Wipe down tables, chairs, and pool furniture regularly.
• Straighten lounge chairs and umbrellas.
• Empty trash bins when full.

Food & Beverage Support

• Assist servers by running food from the kitchen to pool guests.
• Help keep tables clean for members dining at the pool.
• Deliver water or small service items when needed.

Equipment & Supplies

• Ensure pool equipment such as floats are returned to proper storage.
• Monitor towel supply and notify staff when more are needed.
• Report damaged chairs, umbrellas, or pool equipment.

End of Day Duties

• Organize lounge chairs and tables.
• Pick up all towels and trash around the pool deck.
• Ensure pool area is clean and ready for the next day.
• Secure equipment and report any issues to management.

Skills & Qualifications

• Friendly and professional attitude.
• Ability to work outdoors in warm weather.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to stay active and attentive during shifts
• CPR/AED certification preferred ( or willingness to obtain)
