What You’ll DoAs a Plant Manager, you will oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the entire facility, ensuring the production of safe, high‑quality products while leading and developing plant teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring full compliance with GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, GFSI, FSMA, sanitation guidelines, and HSE requirements.
- Maintaining the facility in an audit‑ready condition at all times.
- Leading overall plant performance, including personnel safety, product quality, operational efficiency, environmental compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Using corporate mission, quality, and safety statements as guiding decision-making principles.
- Directing and coordinating plant operations according to company policies and procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑organized manufacturing environment.
- Selecting, training, and developing plant supervisory and administrative staff.
- Setting plant culture, demonstrating strong leadership, and fostering high employee engagement.
- Establishing and communicating a clear operational vision and actionable plans to achieve it.
- Setting measurable expectations to promote alignment, accountability, and performance.
- Empowering team members to excel in their roles and develop a sense of ownership.
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement across the facility.
- Communicating effectively at all organizational levels and involving others in problem‑solving.
- Understanding business operations and how inputs and outputs affect overall results.
- Managing and developing supervisory staff, including setting stretch goals aligned with plant objectives.
- Supporting grain quality, document control, and food safety initiatives.
- Serving as the designated backup to key personnel responsible for grain quality, document control, and food safety functions.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Milling Science, food manufacturing, operations management, or related field; equivalent work experience considered.
- 6–10 years of progressive supervisory experience in flour milling or food manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to pass a Respirator Fit Test and work with a respirator.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong technical writing, presentation, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Willingness to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
- Ability to perform essential physical tasks, including standing, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
