Job Description
Objective:
The Controls Engineer/Technologist 2 leads portions of design and commissioning tasks, troubleshoot complex automation issues, and contribute to maintaining project timelines and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Project).
- Demonstrates a highly reliable work ethic and consistent dependability.
- Proficient in the design and development of hardware panels.
- Applies PLC programming with a strong level of proficiency.
- Capable of supporting and developing general HMI programming solutions.
- Possesses proficient knowledge of VFDs, servo systems, and drive controllers.
- Recognized as an expert in PPE requirements and safety practices.
Additional Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrates strong individual resourcefulness in completing work.
- Proficient in keeping internal teams aligned with project schedules.
- Proficient in maintaining field team progress against project timelines.
- Effectively managers customer interactions in both routine and high-pressure situations.
- Represents the company and its brands in a professional and positive manner.
- Expert in adapting to changing work schedules and time demands.
- Collaborates effectively with internal departments (e.g., Shop, CAD, Engraving) to accomplish tasks.
Current Hours and Starting Time:
- Full Time, 40 hours per week.
- Overtime may be needed.
- Currently Hybrid Work Environment- which includes some time in automotive plants.
Project Specific Knowledge: (Either Ford or GM Experience)
Ford NextGen/GVOSS
- Proficient in system hardware design.
- Connectivity
- Custom Panel Design
- Proficient in logic design.
- Proficient in HMI design.
GM G22
- Proficient in system hardware design.
- Connectivity
- Custom Panel Design
- Proficient in logic design.
- Proficient in HMI design.
Legacy PLC5 (Any experience in this field is a bonus)
- Aware experience in system hardware design.

Physical and Travel Requirements:
- This position requires travel to job sites as needed.
- The individual must be physically capable of:
- Climbing a two-story ladder.
- Walking one mile within 20 minutes.
- Carrying a laptop while moving across job sites.
- Lifting up to 30 lbs. without difficulty.
