About This Position
Position Summary:
Superior Decks & Railings is looking for a motivated and reliable Deck Assembler to join our hands-on, growing production team. In this role, you'll play a key part in building high-quality deck systems and railing components in a controlled shop environment. The Deck Assembler works with both raw materials and pre-fabricated parts to produce precision-built products ready for installation. Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble deck and railing components according to specifications, drawings, and shop standards
• Use hand tools and power tools (drills, saws, impact drivers, etc.) to build subassemblies and full units
• Interpret simple blueprints, work instructions, and material lists to ensure accurate builds
• Perform quality checks to verify alignment, fit, finish, and structural integrity
• Pre-drill, fasten, cut, or modify components using jigs, fixtures, and templates
• Handle materials safely and with care
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow
• Assist with staging completed products for shipment or on-site installation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company policies
• Other shop/warehouse duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• 1+ year experience in carpentry, construction, manufacturing, or similar hands-on trade preferred
• Comfortable using hand and power tools with accuracy and care
• Able to follow written instructions, read tape measures, and complete simple math
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and standing or moving throughout a shift
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of pride in workmanship
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team setting
Preferred Skills:
• Experience working with aluminum or composite building products
• Familiarity with custom railing or decking systems
• OSHA 10 certification
• Forklift operation experience a plus

This position is based in a production shop with exposure to tools, noise, and various building materials. Proper safety equipment and training will be provided.
