Job Description

Summary: This position is responsible for managing the sales activities of a given territory to meet or exceed sales forecasts/goals.

Essential Functions of the Job: The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following:

  • Customer champion with consistent contact and understanding of how the account makes buying decisions
  • Champion the local market and be able to recognize opportunities within all ebm-papst products and factories utilizing market management and application engineering for technical support
  • Meet or exceed sales forecast/goals
  • Expand customer base – both direct OEM and distribution
  • Travel to customers and distributors to develop, maintain, and improve relationships and business opportunities
  • Submit weekly travel itinerary to Area Sales Director/Regional Sales Manager
  • Facilitate and participate in distributor training sessions
  • Initiate buddy calls with distributors
  • Recognizes and can differentiate between those customers that should be distribution vs. direct and how to navigate those waters comfortably
  • Follow up on sales leads from corporate timely or per deadlines
  • Monitor open order report weekly, and ensure repeat customers are ordering within lead times
  • Able to consistently communicate with application engineering, customer relations and our credit department to achieve and maintain success with the customer
  • Looks to Area Sales Director/Regional Sales Manager for guidance, direction and support to communicate and deliver customer expectations and what it takes to be successful
  • Travel to Connecticut office as needed
  • Participate in trade shows and sales meetings as required
  • Prepare annual sales forecast as well as maintain monthly for assigned territory
  • Submit expense reports on time (due each week)
  • Provide monthly reports on account activity (Monthly Project List, Disty/Project Narrative) due at the end of every month
  • Provide sales call/conference call reports as needed.
  • Special assignments as required.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Travel Policy.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
