Senior Project Operations Manager at Tomball Controls – Von Ormy, Texas

The Senior Project Operations Manager is responsible for leading the initial development and setup of projects from point of award through transition into active execution. This role works closely with the Applications Engineer to ensure projects are properly scoped, documented, and structured prior to execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Development & Initiation

· Lead initial project development in partnership with Applications Engineering.

· Establish project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

· Review specifications, customer requirements, and contract terms.

· Identify and mitigate risks during project initiation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Serve as operational link between commercial, engineering, and execution teams.

· Coordinate internal stakeholders for smooth project transitions.

· Act as liaison between customers, NPI team, and Applications Engineering.

· Manage structured handoff to Site Project Managers.

Site Project Manager Support & Leadership

· Provide leadership and mentorship to Site Project Managers.

· Coach on project management best practices.

· Conduct regular project reviews and performance check-ins.

Process & Standards

· Develop standardized project initiation tools and templates.

· Support adoption of project management methodologies.

· Contribute to continuous process improvement.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience 7+ years of project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.

· Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.

· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· PMP certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged computer use.

· Travel up to 25–30%.

· Occasional manufacturing floor and outdoor exposure.
