About This Position
- 1. Meeting all the needs for the online course or hybrid course(depending on what is assigned).
- Following prescribed course syllabi and adopted textbooks.
- Preparing instructional materials and keeping them current to make the best possible use of each class period.
- Informing students of course objectives, performance objectives, class procedures, and grading policies at the beginning of each semester.
- Enhancing the instructional/learning process by emphasizing effective course organization and planning, faculty/student interaction, communication, level of course difficulty and workload, appropriate textbooks and readings, and tests and examinations.
- Keeping accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and final semester grades.
- Motivating students by professional, responsive, and cordial attitude to perform at their highest level.
- Maintaining an atmosphere of dignity and propriety conducive to learning in both the classroom and office.
- Working cooperatively with other members of the faculty and staff in an effort to contribute to overall instructional effectiveness.
- Utilizing talents, academic background, and strong personal qualities to serve the best interests of students and Tyler Junior College.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Technology, Healthcare Administration or Business Management.
- Required: Experience working in the subject matter for the specific course for a healthcare system or related.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Proficiency in interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication and diplomacy.
