- Salary Range $54,000-$85,000 annually

BCD preschool teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Homeroom teacher in BCD’s preschool division;
- Provide a stimulating, creative and an appropriately challenged or appropriately differentiated educational environment, including opportunities for children to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.
- Use best practices regarding student-centered instruction, collaboration, and authentic assessment;
- Participate in ongoing training in literacy, differentiation, and other appropriate topics;
- Maintain a PDIS profile and complete 15+ hours of professional development annual training including required annual trainings
- Abide by State of Colorado Childcare rules and regulations and Boulder County Public Health rules and regulations
- Ensure safety of children at all times
- Oversee lunch, snack, naptime, and assist with hygiene routines
- Keep classroom and playground safe, clean and organized
- Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, run and lift or carry children
- Provide regular and thoughtful communication to all BCD constituencies (students, parents, and colleagues);
- Support enrollment and retention by assisting with tours, events, and other school outreach; and
- Perform other duties as directed by the Head of School.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
- Demonstrated passion for teaching preschool school children;
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education preferred. Combination of experience working with children and related coursework is also acceptable.
- Colorado Shines PDIS level 2 or higher
- At least 3-5 years teaching in an early childhood setting;
- Knowledge of or background in independent schools;
- Ability to differentiate within each class;
- Flexibility, ability to work with change, and strengths in innovation; and
- Effective communication skills.
