Hardware Warehouse Associate - Des Moines at Walsh Door & Hardware Company – Des Moines, Iowa

Job Description:

• Load and unload commercial doors, frames, and hardware for deliveries by hand, pallet jack, and/or forklift.
• Pull, label, and ship hardware orders for customers. This position requires manual labor for a substantial portion of the time.
• Prepare outbound paperwork.
• Receive material accurately against picking slips.
• Gain an in-depth understanding of commercial door hardware and applications.
• Secure loads with applicable strapping and packaging materials.
• Check loads and deliveries for accuracy against shipping tickets.
• Clean and organize warehouse.
• Receive material and put material in proper location.
• Occasional travel to out-of-state job sites is required to check and organize materials; candidates must be able to travel by airplane.
• 40 hours per week, typically between 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday with a 30-minute lunch break.

Hours WILL VARY depending on workload.

• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age to apply. Prefer candidate with commercial hardware experience. Must have clean driving record and valid driver’s license required. Must pass pre-employment physical fit test, drug screen, and background check. Must drive in a safe and efficient manner to limit risk exposures. Must be able to safely lift medium to heavy materials up to 100 pounds. Frequent to constant standing, lifting, handling, stooping, walking, carrying, kneeling, seeing, punching, bending and reaching. Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision.
