About This Position

Position Description:

Are you an experienced facilities leader who thrives in regulated healthcare environments? We are seeking a Director of Facilities Management to lead all maintenance, life safety, and environmental operations for our facility. This role is critical to ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performing environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

As a senior leader, you will oversee preventive and emergency maintenance programs, manage budgets and vendors, guide a skilled maintenance team, and ensure full compliance with healthcare regulatory and accreditation standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the facility’s subject matter expert for Life Safety, Environment of Care, and Emergency Management, ensuring compliance with AHCA, The Joint Commission (TJC), and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve proactive and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Lead, train, and manage the maintenance team, including work prioritization, scheduling, and performance oversight.
  • Evaluate maintenance requests, assign resources effectively, and ensure timely resolution of facility issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and records related to maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance.
  • Conduct routine inspections of HVAC, electrical, emergency, and disaster preparedness systems, including generators and backup equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal partners to support facility operations and capital projects.
  • Collaborate with the business office to secure and maintain required licenses, permits, and inspections.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to support maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Provide reporting and recommendations related to facility safety, infrastructure performance, and risk mitigation
What We’re Looking For

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Construction Management, or Business (required)
  • Master’s degree (preferred)
Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of facility maintenance experience
  • At least 5 years in a management role
  • Experience in inpatient, residential, or healthcare settings (required)
Preferred Certifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Certified Health Care Facility Manager (CHFM)
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP)
  • General Contractor (GC)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
