**We are seeking an LPN or RN for weekday shifts, 7am to 7pm in the Mebane area.**
This case will be 1:1 care for a medically complex client in a school setting. Experience with cath care and hoyer lift experience needed.
The Private Duty Nurse (PDN) is a member of the client care team that provides services directly, or acts as a placement agency, to deliver skilled nursing services to clients in their personal residences. The PDN works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluates and treats clients with appropriate level of skill according to client's needs under the supervision of an RN, Clinical Manager.
- Assist with providing continuity of care and emotional needs of client and family.
- Resourceful in meeting client's psychosocial needs.
- Verbal demonstration of client rights and responsibilities.
- Make decisions based on sound nursing judgements.
- Recognizes and copes with emergencies appropriately.
- Ensures proper management of client services.
- Demonstrates competent use of equipment.
- Appropriately communicates information relative to client care in accordance with agency policies.
- Observes the client's general physical, emotional, and mental status, and reports all changes in the client's conditions, family situation, incident, and occurrences during shift immediately to agency RN/CM or Customer Care Coordinator.
- Ensure all forms of communication with clients, families, and health plan providers are documented timely to promote continuity of care across all interdepartmental functions.
- Build relationships with clients to encourage compliance with care plans and client safety.
- Maintains accurate clinical and shift work documentations to update system in accordance with guidelines set forth by the agency in a comprehensive and timely manner.
- Manage client/contract satisfaction with the highest level of customer service standards, communication, and documentation.
- Adheres to infection control policies and exposure control plan as mandated.
- Monitor and maintain clinical report, including Infection and Occurrence/Complaint Reports.

Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure / Certification: Registered Nurse who is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON). Must have a current, unencumbered license as an RN. Must be in good standing in the applicable state of practice. Must maintain all state and federal compliance requirements for licensure and employment.
- Travel: Travel is required for business purposes. Employees must have a valid driver's license issued by the state in which they work and a satisfactory driving record.
- Work Experience: Minimum of one year of home care experience. One additional year of nursing experience, preferably in a hospital, is required for conducting applicable training classes.
- Other Hours of Work: Varies on a case-by-case basis. Full time is at least 30 hours a week from Saturday-Friday.
- Skills and Additional Requirements:
- A specific understanding of geographical/cultural requirements of branch office is preferred.
- Must be customer service oriented and prepared to liaise with patients, their families and other care providers.
- Ability to use computerized systems.
- Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Bilingual preferred
