About This Position
The Latent Print Examiner will engage in a variety of activities including, but not limited to: analyzing latent prints, searching latent prints in Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems, conducting comparisons, verifying comparison conclusions, preparing reports, preparing well-organized, detailed, factual and informative exhibits for court proceedings at the request of the State Attorney’s Office. maintaining FIU case files, testifying in court, and providing technical assistance regarding latent print matters. |
Minimum four years related work experience, or Associates degree in related field and minimum two years related work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a science related field desirable
• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop desirable
• Certification in latent print examination through the International Association for Identification
desirable.
• Knowledge of friction ridge skin characteristics/classifications
• Demonstrate adequate skill in the use of computer/office equipment.
• Efficient in time management skills relating to daily work activities, tasks and special assignments.
• Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, demonstrating an awareness for human
diversity to citizens and colleagues.
• Upon hire must successfully complete the Latent Print Examiner Training Program
