Patient Care Tech at Crouse Hospital – Syracuse, New York

The Patient Care Tech Performs daily care activities to help achieve the goals of the patient care plan as directed by the Registered Professional Nurse.

minimum education/certification licenses:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of one of the following educational programs:
  • Successful completion in a Certified Nursing Aid program with certificate
• OR
• Successful completion in the fundamentals of nursing coursework and clinical rotation in hospital setting OR
• 1 year previous experience as a patient care tech in an ED

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Minimum of 1 year, 2 year preferred of patient care experience in an acute care setting
• Preferred:
• Completion of a phlebotomy course

SPECIAL SKILLS/EQUIPMENT:

• Required
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification a time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire date
