POSITION SUMMARY
The nurse is responsible for guiding and ensuring the quality of clinical services, treatment, and/or interventions provided to Unaccompanied Minor’s (UM) in the programs in collaboration with the Medical Director and contracted physicians. The nurse is devoted to the delivery of medical care in CPLC program setting with the emphasis on disease prevention and health maintenance. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with State licensing, Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), and all policies and procedures implemented by CPLC Programs.
The Lead Medical Coordinator provides health management, effective communication, and leadership in the execution and direction of quality services to minors and staff. They are responsible for a variety of duties, including, but not limited to:
- Ensures all infection control, OSHA, CDC, and State licensing guidelines are followed and maintained in all medical departments.
- Creates and implements tools to monitor and audit the performance of the medical departments.
- Creates strategies and action plans for the prevention of infectious disease outbreaks. Investigates possible outbreaks and coordinates proper resources in response to any confirmed outbreak.
- Maintains and implements any recommendations given by the Public Health Departments, CDC, and ORR in collaboration with the Medical Director.
- Performs nursing consultations and other duties as assigned within the scope of nursing services.
- Provides quality assurance for the medical department to include the following (not limited to): Oral, written, and statistical reports, presentations, auditing of electronic medical records, maintaining all medical department electronic systems and all medical documents completed and provided by the medical department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and supervises medical staff, including performance evaluation, training, coaching, monitoring schedules and shifts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Registered Nurse (RN) from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s or Associates degree in nursing (Minimum of 1-year direct patient care experience preferred).
OR

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) AND Licensure according to State requirements with two to five years of nursing experience in an outpatient, assisted living, hospital, or public health/community setting preferred.
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS
Schedule subject to change based on the program needs - this position could also be "on call."
