About This Position
We are looking for a supervisor for our CNC department. The CNC Machining Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the CNC machining department in our manufacturing facility. Candidates should have a good understanding of how to execute prototype and production projects. This individual is responsible for performing the duties of a machinist while also overseeing a team of CNC machinists. Other responsibilities would include, ensuring the efficient operation of CNC machines, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing production processes. This is a 2nd shift, benefit-eligible position Monday through Friday with the option of four ten-hour days Monday - Thursday. We do also offer a 7.5% shift premium for second-shift employees. There will be overtime opportunities with this position as well. It is also important to note that there would be a 1-3 month first-shift training period prior to entering the second-shift Supervisor role.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and oversee a team
- CNC programming and set up
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate with Production Manager and Engineering
- Dimensional inspection using basic hand measurement tools
- Control and enforce quality control procedures
- Continuously evaluate and refine machining processes to optimize efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of production activities
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations
- Identify training needs within the team
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Training, Skills, and Experience:
· Technical degree in CNC machining preferred. Relevant work experience in CNC machining can be considered in lieu of formal education.
· Proven experience in CNC machining, including programming, set-up, and operation.
· Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing environment preferred
· Strong understanding of CNC programming, tooling, and machining processes.
· Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
· Surfcam or MasterCam experience is preferred.
· Experience with 4th and 5th axis machining is a plus
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
· Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards in a manufacturing setting.
