Position Overview:
The HR Manager role provides support to the President & CEO. In this role, you should expect to be in a fast-paced work environment and be able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and personable individual who has conflict resolution skills and is open to change and challenges as they arise.
Responsibilities:
o Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
o Create Employment Offer Letters, NDA's and Separation Agreements.
o Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, and responsible alcohol training.
o Process onboarding including all pre-employment testing, drug screening, HRIS set-up, the online I-9 process and provide orientation for new employees by sharing onboarding packages and explaining company policies.
o Plan and organize annual performance reviews.
o Maintain organizational charts and detailed job descriptions.
o Develop and implement HR policies and procedures throughout the organization and the employee handbook according to Texas and other state laws.
o Process employee queries and respond in a timely manner.
o Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation.
o Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
o Support all departments when an intermediary or unbiased facilitator is needed.
o Perform other duties as assigned.
o Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field is required.
o Three or more years experience in a similar role.
o Additional certification (PHR) is a plus.
o Strong knowledge of labor legislation.
o Familiarity with full-cycle recruiting.
o Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems.
o Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
o Strategical thinking and mindset to contribute effectively to the human resources department.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good problem-solving abilities.
o Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
o Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
o Must be a team player who will work well in a small company environment with outstanding interpersonal skills and team management abilities.
o Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
o May require frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
