About the role

As a Fabrication Technician, you will play a valuable role in fabricating steel and composite lined pipe and assembling automated and manual valves as ordered. You will also prepare for and arrange shipping as required at our EPIC division.

What you'll do

  • Print out Work Orders, transfer orders, and plan the work each day based on needs.
  • Move and position lined pipe onto machine and create the flange as required.
  • Load and position pipe onto saws or machine for cutting specified threads and length.
  • Measure completed pieces to verify conformance to order specifications and examine workpieces for defects.
  • Set stops, clamps, and other parts of machine beds, change dies, and adjust components, as needed to make the required pieces.
  • Tag completed pipe, add endcaps, and touch up any areas with appropriate paint for a professional and neat finish.
  • Move product to designated staging area for shipping.
  • Separate fabricated material to shipping points. Load outgoing Fabrication shipments onto trucks as needed and ship orders on common carriers if necessary. Ensure all tagged material is double checked before shipment.
  • Fill out motor freight bills for shipment and input the PRO numbers into the Eclipse system for each Fabrication ticket at the header location.
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
  • Assemble electrical or electronic components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, and valves.
  • Occasionally travel to customer locations to trouble shoot and repair inoperable valves.
  • Order valves and other necessary parts as needed to keep inventory within acceptable limits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll get

  • Competitive Pay & Comprehensive Benefits: We offer competitive salaries and a range of great benefits including medical, dental, short term disability (paid for by the company) and a 401(k) plan with immediate employer match.
  • Paid Time Off: Eastern offers paid holidays and a bank of Paid Time Off (PTO) hours. This allows for a healthy work-life balance and to take the time you need to rest, relax, and rejuvenate.
  • "Eastern Cares" Mission Days: As an employee, you can participate in PAID mission days, where you can engage in meaningful volunteer work and contribute to causes that matter to you.
  • Growth and Development: You can develop your skills and advance in your career through training programs, mentorship opportunities, and internal promotions.
  • Positive Company Culture: As a family-owned and operated business, the sense of being part of a family extends to all associates. You will be part of a supportive and inclusive work environment where your contributions are recognized and appreciated.
