The Materials Management Technician is responsible for receiving, stocking, inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment throughout the health system. This position ensures that supplies are available to support patient care while maintaining inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficient supply chain operations.

The Supply Chain & Distribution Department supports patient care and hospital operations by ensuring the timely receipt, storage, distribution, and replenishment of medical supplies, equipment, and other materials throughout Aultman Health System. The department is committed to maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing supply availability, controlling costs, and providing exceptional customer service to clinical and non-clinical departments.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience in materials management, warehouse operations, inventory control, distribution, healthcare supply chain, or customer service preferred.

• Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships.

• Methods and techniques of handling equipment, materials and supplies.

• Provide information and assistance to staff members in a helpful, courteous, and timely manner.

• Prioritize and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations on a day-to-day basis where limited standardization may exist.

• Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries for accuracy and completeness.

• Stock supplies in designated inventory locations using established procedures.

• Perform daily replenishment of hospital departments, nursing units, procedural areas, and supply rooms.

• Pick, stage, and distribute supply and stat orders in a timely manner.

• Rotate stock and check for expired products.

• Communication discrepancies in inventory to storeroom coordinator.

• Performs other job duties as required.

• Operate inventory management systems to perform transactions, adjustments, and cycle counts.

• Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock shortages, backorders, and supply concerns to leadership.

• Maintain organized, clean, and compliant storage areas in accordance with infection prevention and regulatory standards.

• Assist with periodic physical inventories and cycle counting activities.

• Support implementation of inventory optimization and process improvement initiatives.

• Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and other approved equipment.

• Respond promptly to department and customer requests for supplies and inventory support.

• Follow all organizational safety policies and procedures.

• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable HIPAA, regulatory, and organizational policies.
