Job Description
Aspen Publishing is seeking a Quality Assurance/Operations Analyst to be a part of a growing company. This role is open to Boston-based candidates to work in our Burlington, MA office on a hybrid office/work-from-home schedule. In this hybrid role you will focus on Aspen’s QA and Platform administration across Aspen’s digital products with particular focus on AspenPublishing.com, Aspen Courses (JD-Next), and other customer-facing and internal platforms. You will work closely with the Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams. We are looking for QA/Ops Analyst who can take our digital products to the next level—is that you?

RANGE: $90K (MIN) / $106K (MID) / $120K (MAX)
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for hands-on Quality Assurance — regression, automated, and feature testing ahead of releases — with day-to-day Platform Operations, including course setup, catalog and design configuration, and troubleshooting across systems; works closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure releases are reliable, and that platform data and configuration stay accurate and consistent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for core platforms
- Execute regression testing ahead of releases across all platforms
- Conduct functional, feature, and accessibility (consistent with WCAG 2.x) testing for new development, from early builds through release candidates
- Log, track, and help triage defects; verify fixes prior to release sign-off
- Maintain test plans, test case documentation, and a record of known issues per platform
- Flag quality risks or regressions proactively to Product and Engineering ahead of releases
Platform Operations
- Administer course setup and configuration for JD-Next and other course-based products
- Support day-to-day eStore (Shopify) administration, including investigating customer and configuration issues
- Support entitlement and product-variant data entry and consistency in line with Aspen's source-of-truth ownership model
- Troubleshoot operational issues across platforms, escalating to Engineering or vendors as needed
- Coordinate with vendors (e.g., Impelsys, Firebrand) on operational and data issues affecting assigned platforms
- Take on recurring administrative/ops tasks that would otherwise sit with other members the Product/QA team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, including both manual and automated/regression testing
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools/frameworks (e.g., BugBug, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
- Experience with platform administration or configuration work in an ecommerce, SaaS, or LMS environment; Shopify experience a plus
- Experience with accessibility considerations and WCAG compliance a plus
- Familiarity with UX Design & Figma a plus
- Familiarity with PowerBI a plus
- Comfortable working across multiple systems and platforms simultaneously, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to triage and prioritize independently, escalating appropriately when blocked
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Background in digital publishing, ed-tech, or higher education preferred, but not required
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines
- Strong QA skills, including planning, execution, automation, and reporting
- Experience with agile development frameworks and QA methodologies
- Prototyping/wireframing skills preferred
- Willingness to travel domestically occasionally
- Strong organization, planning, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work occasional nights and/or weekends when needed
