Jerome L. Taylor Trucking, Inc. (JLT) is seeking experienced Front Load Drivers to join our team at our hauling operations facility in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. This position is responsible for operating waste and recycling collection vehicles throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

JLT drivers operate heavy-duty collection vehicles and are responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste and recyclable materials. Drivers transport collected materials to transfer stations, recycling facilities, or disposal sites once legal load capacity has been reached.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, customer-oriented, and capable of navigating high-traffic roadways, residential communities, commercial properties, alleys, and other service locations.
Preferred QualificationsExperience- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of waste industry driving experience required
- Experience operating front load collection vehicles strongly preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Air Brake Endorsement required
- Clean driving record preferred
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
- Operate assigned vehicles in compliance with all JLT Safety Policies, OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Conduct and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, accidents, injuries, incidents, or property damage to the Route Manager or Dispatcher.
- Attend and actively participate in required safety meetings, training sessions, and company briefings.
- Work collaboratively with management to improve route efficiency and enhance operational performance.
- Communicate customer concerns, service requests, and route-related issues promptly.
- Safely service containers and ensure customer locations are left clean and free of debris.
- Follow assigned routes and complete all end-of-day reporting requirements.
- Operate equipment in a safe, professional, and efficient manner.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by management.

What Does It Take to be a Driver at JLT Trucking?
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Hold a current valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with an air brake endorsement.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
