Location: Cocoa Beach, FL
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Overtime: Saturday opportunities available
Starting Pay: $25.00/hour — higher depending on experience
We are hiring an experienced Industrial Painter/Sandblaster for work involving surface preparation and protective coating of metal components. The position requires experience with industrial painting equipment, abrasive blasting, coating application, and working safely in demanding environments.
What Youll Do- Prepare metal surfaces by sandblasting rust, scale, and existing coatings
- Mask surfaces and prepare areas for coating application
- Apply epoxy, urethane, and zinc-rich primers/coatings
- Operate airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment
- Review technical drawings, work orders, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Follow coating specifications and required thickness standards
- Inspect, clean, and maintain painting and blasting equipment
- Perform minor equipment repairs and adjustments when needed
- Work safely in confined spaces, at elevated heights, and under varying environmental conditions
- Follow required PPE and workplace safety procedures
- Document surface preparation, coating applications, job progress, and quality-control information
- Work with the team to maintain project quality and production schedules
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred
- 2–3 years of industrial painting and sandblasting experience
- Experience using airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment
- Knowledge of surface preparation, sandblasting, and masking techniques
- Familiarity with epoxy, urethane, and zinc-rich coatings
- Ability to read technical drawings and Safety Data Sheets
- Understanding of coating thickness requirements and measurement tools
- Knowledge of PPE, confined-space, and fall/height safety practices
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Good communication and ability to work effectively with a team
