Job Description

Senior Director of Publishing Production - Unannounced Project

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director of Publishing Production - Unannounced Project based in the United States.

The Senior Director of Publishing Production will lead publishing production for an exciting, unannounced mobile game in development.
Reporting to senior production leadership, you will operate at the intersection of game development, publishing, marketing, licensing, and live operations.
You will turn strategic priorities into coordinated execution, ensuring major initiatives move from planning to delivery with clarity and discipline.
The role spans high-impact moments including soft launch, global launch, integrated marketing campaigns, licensed IP activations, and player-facing experiences.
You will build strong partnerships across creative, technical, commercial, and operational teams while navigating complex dependencies and competing priorities.
Beyond immediate execution, you will strengthen production systems, processes, governance, and operating rhythms that improve organizational effectiveness.
This is a high-visibility leadership opportunity for a hands-on production executive who thrives in fast-moving, collaborative, and complex game development environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead Publishing Production for the project, translating strategic priorities into coordinated execution across Development, Marketing, Licensing, Live Operations, and Publishing.
  • Serve as the primary operational bridge between Development and Publishing, keeping product roadmaps, marketing campaigns, licensing initiatives, releases, and player-facing moments aligned.
  • Own end-to-end execution of major publishing initiatives, including soft launch, global launch, integrated marketing campaigns, licensed IP activations, community moments, and other high-impact player experiences.
  • Establish clear ownership, priorities, planning frameworks, decision-making rhythms, and execution processes that enable teams to move efficiently and confidently.
  • Build trusted relationships across Product, Development, Marketing, Community, User Acquisition, CRM, Customer Experience, and external partners.
  • Align diverse teams around shared objectives while proactively managing competing priorities, dependencies, risks, and execution challenges.
  • Step into complex production issues directly, remove blockers, resolve ambiguity, and continuously improve the systems and ways of working that support successful delivery.
  • Partner with Live Operations, Release Management, and Development teams to integrate publishing priorities into release schedules and ensure operational readiness.
  • Maintain clear ownership across organizations and ensure teams have the information, resources, and alignment needed to execute effectively.
  • Provide senior leadership with clear visibility into production health, risks, dependencies, progress, and recommended actions to support informed decision-making.
  • Lead and develop a growing Publishing Production organization, establishing high standards for execution, collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor producers and production leaders while creating an environment that encourages ownership, autonomy, continuous improvement, and strong cross-functional partnership.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience leading Production, Publishing Production, or Program Management within a mobile live-service game environment.
  • Proven experience partnering closely with both Development and Publishing organizations to deliver complex products and initiatives.
  • Strong track record delivering cross-functional publishing initiatives such as product launches, integrated marketing campaigns, licensing or external partnerships, and large-scale player-facing experiences.
  • Deep understanding of mobile game development and publishing, including live-service operations, release cadence, production planning, and the operational requirements of successful mobile titles.
  • Experience translating strategic priorities into clear execution plans while remaining hands-on enough to remove blockers, resolve ambiguity, and keep teams progressing.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence peers and senior leaders and drive alignment across multiple organizations without relying solely on direct authority.
  • Proven experience establishing scalable production practices, governance structures, planning processes, and operating rhythms that improve predictability, quality, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing producers or production leaders while fostering accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance player experience, development realities, publishing priorities, operational risk, and business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt messaging and build alignment across technical, creative, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience shipping or operating successful mobile free-to-play games is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working with licensed intellectual property and complex external partnerships is preferred.
  • Experience supporting games through soft launch, global launch, and long-term live operations is beneficial.
  • Experience collaborating with co-development studios or globally distributed development teams is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Marketing, User Acquisition, CRM, Community, and Customer Experience organizations is advantageous.
  • Experience with release management, incident management, or operational readiness for large-scale live games is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Remote position available across the United States.
  • Annual base salary range of $193,000–$284,000 USD for candidates in California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, and Washington.
  • Compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
  • Potential eligibility for equity and bonus opportunities in addition to base salary.
  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits.
  • Retirement benefits.
  • Pet insurance.
  • Paid holidays.
  • Paid company-wide free days.
  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • Opportunity to contribute to an unannounced mobile title from the early stages of development.
  • High-impact leadership role spanning publishing, development, marketing, licensing, and live operations.
  • Opportunity to shape production strategy, systems, processes, and best practices at scale.
  • Collaborative environment working with experienced game makers across disciplines and geographies.
  • Strong opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and increased organizational influence.
  • Inclusive culture focused on creativity, collaboration, player experiences, and meaningful connections through games.
