Collections Specialist in Houston, Texas at ABC Pest Control of Houston Inc

ABC Home & Commercial Services is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Collection Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for managing customer accounts, following up on outstanding balances, and working with customers to resolve payment issues while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.

The ideal candidate is comfortable having financial conversations with customers, can confidently follow up on outstanding balances, and has strong organizational and communication skills. Key Responsibilities:

• Collections via phone, text, email, or other company-approved means.
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activities
• Meet or exceed monthly collection goals
• Process, record, and apply incoming payments
• Assist with billing and invoicing functions
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve customer disputes
• Handling customer inquiries
• Other duties as assigned

• Previous collections, accounts receivable, billing, or customer service experience preferred.
• 2+ years of collections or accounts receivable experience is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable making frequent outbound calls and having payment-related conversations.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain professional and composed when handling difficult or sensitive customer situations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities.
• Comfortable working with repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.
• Some college education required, accounting or finance major is a plus
• At least one year of collection experience
• Intermediate skills in Excel, including VLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables

Physical Requirements

• Required to carry up to 10 pounds occasionally
• Sit and work at a computer for extended periods
• Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of wrist, hands, and/or fingers
• Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures: transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
