As a Server Assistant, you will help us forage new and lasting connections with our guests who dine with us, showcasing our fresh, seasonal fare that highlights the path from seed to plate by supporting the front server during restaurant service in one of our two restaurants in order to provide an exceptional dining experience.
Our two restaurants, Sojourner, and January, each evoke a feeling of their own; Sojourner, our center of the life in the Inn, where all are welcome to gather, and our all-day and in-room dining emanates from its kitchen. The vibe is elegant but casual. January, open exclusively for dinner, with each meal dependent on the season and ingredients available for harvest. It is where our guests will come to share the joy of a meal with family and friends all while watching it all prepared in our state-of-the-art open kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Properly set each table with the appropriate china, glass and silver, based on the details of the reservation
- Assist Front Servers with the service of food and beverage during the dining experience, including running of food and pre-bussing of tables
- Clear table of all items immediately following the guests departure
- Organize and clean back of house area, including server and beverage stations
- Stocking of linen, china, silver and glassware for restaurant service and monitoring quality and cleanliness of items
- Preparation of condiment and garnish items and food and beverage items as needed
- Moving and set up tables and chairs within the restaurant as required for the operations
- Provide guests with a warm welcome, anticipatory service, and a fond farewell upon departure
- Assists in other outlets when needed based on business levels
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

- High School Diploma
- Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 lbs.
- Available to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays
- Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods as needed and able to work in all weather conditions
