Operations Associate Attorney

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Operations Associate Attorney based in the United States.

This role provides an opportunity to combine legal expertise with operational excellence in a mission-driven environment.
The position acts as a key connection point between legal teams and operational departments, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
You will support process improvements, legal training, client escalation management, and the implementation of updated guidance.
Working closely with attorneys and cross-functional teams, you will help strengthen workflows and improve client experiences.

Accountabilities:

The Operations Associate Attorney will support the Legal Operations Department by ensuring legal consistency across operational teams, improving processes, and serving as a trusted resource for legal guidance. This role requires strong collaboration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive client matters while supporting organizational goals.

  • Handle client escalations independently, applying established procedures and escalating complex issues or potential risks to legal leadership when necessary.
  • Identify and communicate firm risks, policy concerns, refund issues, and contract-related matters to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and updated legal resources, including scripts, FAQs, workflows, and client communication guidelines.
  • Partner with attorneys to document changes in immigration policies, regulatory updates, and internal standards.
  • Conduct legal research on immigration law topics and translate findings into practical guidance for operational teams.
  • Coordinate legal training initiatives, including refreshers and new guidance implementation, to ensure consistent practices across teams.
  • Serve as a legal subject matter expert for operational projects, supporting process mapping, policy alignment, and implementation efforts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying workflow opportunities and helping document optimized processes.
  • Ensure operational teams follow established legal standards and client service expectations.
  • Contribute to broader organizational priorities by meeting performance goals and supporting cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a legal professional with immigration law experience who can combine strong legal knowledge with operational problem-solving. This individual should be organized, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and client impact are essential.

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active membership and good standing with a state bar.
  • 3–6+ years of immigration law experience required.
  • Prior experience handling immigration-related legal matters and client support.
  • Strong understanding of immigration processes, legal documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to conduct legal research and communicate findings clearly to both legal and operational audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow detailed procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
  • Experience using case management software is preferred.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management platforms.
  • Commitment to supporting individuals and families navigating immigration processes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, operations teams, and leadership.
