Job Description

Senior Program Manager, Asia-Pacific

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, Engineering based in the United States.

This is a high-impact executive engineering leadership role focused on shaping technical strategy, architecture, and execution across a growing data and AI product portfolio.
You will serve as a player-coach, combining long-term technical vision with hands-on engagement in critical systems, decisions, and delivery.
The role brings together engineering, product, data, and AI teams to build scalable, reliable, and innovative technology solutions.
You will guide the evolution toward AI-centric products and development practices while maintaining a strong foundation in data infrastructure.
As a member of the senior leadership team, you will influence business planning, technical investments, and organizational growth.
This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong leader who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and remains close to execution.
You will also help attract and develop exceptional technical talent while representing the organization externally across customers, partners, and the broader technology community.

Accountabilities
  • Own and drive the technical roadmap across the core data platform and emerging AI products, ensuring architectural cohesion, scalability, reliability, and long-term business alignment.
  • Serve as the senior technical voice within the leadership team, contributing to strategic decisions, business planning, technology investments, and organizational priorities.
  • Lead architecture decisions across platform, data, distributed systems, and AI environments while balancing delivery speed, technical quality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Operate as a player-coach by remaining close to complex technical decisions, systems, trade-offs, and delivery while empowering engineering and cross-functional teams to execute independently.
  • Guide the organization toward an AI-centric product and engineering environment, including modern tooling, workflows, development practices, and production AI capabilities.
  • Lead and integrate teams across engineering, product, data, and AI, establishing a high-performance culture built around accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and measurable outcomes.
  • Build, develop, and scale technical organizations by identifying capability gaps, hiring exceptional talent, supporting career development, and strengthening team structures as the organization grows.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, engineering practices, partnerships, and potential acquisition opportunities to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Represent the organization externally as a technology and data leader by engaging with customers, industry peers, media, partners, and senior stakeholders.
  • Support high-level customer and business development conversations by clearly communicating technical capabilities, limitations, opportunities, and strategic direction.
  • Provide technical leadership during critical issues, removing blockers and helping teams navigate complex architectural or delivery challenges.
  • Establish a cohesive approach to technology strategy across multiple product lines while ensuring teams remain aligned with broader organizational objectives.
Requirements
  • Significant experience leading software, platform, data, or AI engineering organizations in a hands-on senior leadership capacity.
  • Practical, production-level experience working with AI systems and a strong understanding of their real-world applications, constraints, and operational requirements.
  • Proven experience defining and evolving technical roadmaps across multiple products, platforms, or technology domains.
  • Strong architectural expertise with complex, data-driven systems, modern cloud platforms, distributed systems, and scalable software environments.
  • Ability to engage deeply with technical teams, understand complex engineering challenges, evaluate trade-offs, and intervene directly when needed to unblock delivery.
  • Demonstrated success hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineering and technical teams.
  • Strong executive presence with clear, direct communication skills and the ability to make, explain, and stand behind difficult technical decisions.
  • Strong business and strategic judgment, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
  • Proven ability to translate technical strategy into measurable business and product outcomes.
  • Experience building and scaling AI-powered products in production environments.
  • Comfortable working as both a strategic leader and hands-on technical partner rather than operating solely in an advisory capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in engineering, computer science, technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Candidates must currently reside in DC, Illinois, Maryland, New York, or Virginia.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in environments characterized by significant change, imperfect information, rapid decision-making, and high levels of autonomy.
Benefits
  • Annual base salary of $200,000.
  • Competitive equity opportunities as part of the overall compensation package.
  • Comprehensive benefits designed to support employee health, recovery, and long-term well-being.
  • Competitive employee benefits available at little to no cost.
  • Opportunity to shape the technical direction of a growing organization and influence the development of AI-focused products.
  • Senior leadership exposure and the opportunity to work closely with executive, engineering, product, data, and AI teams.
  • High level of autonomy and ownership over technical strategy, architecture, organizational development, and execution.
  • Opportunity to build and develop high-performing technical teams.
  • Exposure to innovative technologies, emerging AI practices, and complex data-driven systems.
  • Flexible work arrangements for eligible candidates within the specified U.S. states.
